RELIGION or POLITICS ??????? Buddhism!!!!!!

Hello People, happy GTIF to you too.

Tot those who are late come readers, I was born a Minister's son (typical, but not bad), who died when I was 14 and after which I gradually grew away from religion and churches. I am also a very senior, senior person, so have had a great battle with life for a long, long time.

But, for today this is about my religious life, and growing away form that scene at a young age. Dad was a Presbyterian Minister and a good one, but a lousy father. And the impact on me as a Minister's son, was that I didn't care to continue attending church, since I had too many unanswered questions about religion and God.

Anyway, in my first marriage, for the kids sake (2 sons), I decided to go back to attending church. With an unhappy marriage, that stopped after awhile, another story, and a number of years late tried it again, same marriage. Another bad effort, and end of marriage.

It was a long time before church or religion came seriously to my mind. And this during my 3rd marriage. This time I joined the Unity movement, (not Unitarian). I enjoyed the Unity religious philosophy and thought it the best ever, and attend for some 20 years, through 2 other marriages. The last, the best, the 5th, and still together after 25 years.

However, I did have some doubts about religion and one day I saw an article in the local newspaper about Nichiren Buddhism. It caught my attention, and so shortly attend a meeting and that was the best thing to happen to me in my life, spiritual life, as well as my wife being my best at the people level.

Nichiren Buddhism has the greatest Humanistic Relgious Philosophy extant in my opinion.

For today, here is why: Though 7 centuries old, the Buddhism of Nichiren provides a marvelous prescription for the helplessness and despair now pervading society. Fate, of course, does not always turn out according to our wishes, but Buddhism--especially Nichiren Buddhism--possesses the power with which we can transform destiny. It sheds light on all aspects of human life and penetrates to its core. Universally applicable to all humanity, in every circumstance, it is well worth lifelong study and application..  (A Big Under Statement)

That is it for today.  Ta Ta      CJ
